Mara Saumell brings over two decades of clinical and community mental health experience to her work supporting military-connected students at Fordham University. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from Columbia University and, in more recent years, has worked in higher education, including time in the Registrar's Office and as a School Certifying Official.

As a Veteran Benefits Coach, Mara helps veteran and military-affiliated students understand and access their VA education benefits and manages their enrollment and tuition certifications. Her role brings together her background in social work and school certification, allowing her to continue providing compassionate, informed support to students throughout their academic journey.
