What We’re Hiring For:
-
Director of Cybersecurity Programs (Part-Time/Consulting)
Are you an experienced academic cybersecurity faculty member or administrator? This might be the perfect opportunity for you!
Who We Are
MissionWise partners with colleges, universities, foundations and others to increase enrollment, completion and career readiness of students who are active-duty military, veterans, or military family members.
Our Mission: Transforming the educational journeys of military-affiliated students to further their lives of commitment and service.
Who we Need
MissionWise seeks a visionary Director of Cybersecurity Programs to lead the development, strategic execution, and academic growth of our Applied Cybersecurity degrees. The Director serves as the primary bridge between MissionWise’s curriculum engine, our university partners and the industry practitioners who serve as adjunct faculty. This role is initially part-time, focused on program launch, recruiting, and accreditation, with a clear path to a full-time executive leadership position as enrollment scales.
Summary of Duties
Curriculum & Quality Oversight: Maintain the "Practitioner-Leader" integrity of the B.S. and M.S. curricula. Ensure all courses remain strictly mapped to industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CySA+, PenTest+) and the NICE Framework.
Teaching: Qualify and serve as an adjunct faculty member at our partner institutions, teaching a portion of the cybersecurity curriculum in order to better understand and serve the client institution and the students we serve.
Residency Leadership: Design and oversee the embedded residency simulations/workshops when classes meet on campus.
Faculty Management: Recruit, vet, and mentor a network of active industry practitioners to serve as adjunct faculty. Ensure instructional quality remains aligned with the MissionWise hybrid delivery model.
Accreditation Management: Lead the effort to secure and maintain NSA/DHS CAE-CD designation and ABET accreditation for our partners’ programs
Partnership Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for University Deans and Registrars. Oversee the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) evaluation process for incoming military and professional cohorts.
Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred for accreditation leadership).
Certifications: Active CISSP required. Additional certifications such as CISM, CCSP, or CySA+ are highly preferred.
Experience: 10+ years in cybersecurity operations or leadership; experience in academic program management or faculty roles is a significant plus.
Salary
Initially: monthly retainer of $5,000-$7,500 for 10-15 hours of work. This is for a prep phase, and as we work to align all setup and prep with our partners.
Once classes begin: Part-time salary and benefits commensurate with teaching and administrative load
When student enrollment reaches 50 or more students, salary of $185,000 to $210,000
Location
This is primarily a remote position. Travel to university client sites is required
